Financial Readiness

In addition to the widely dreaded tax day (this year on April 18th), the month of April is Financial Readiness Month. To assist with your disaster readiness, FEMA is offering this great guide: Strengthen Your Financial Preparedness for Disasters and Emergencies (in Spanish) with fillable Checklists and Forms. You might also find the Consumer Action Handbook helpful. It’s full of tips on how to avoid scams and fraud to protect your money and financial future.

In this video, one of the speaker noted that “70% of Americans are living from paycheck to paycheck.” Take the time for this project. The guide and forms above will help you recover more of what you’ve invested in when you need to.
